This is one of those talismans that I am not 100% sure where it came from and so after much consideration decided that it should still remain a talisman but that it would have a mystery power.
I know that it was tied around my wrist during one of the several sacred pilgrimages that I went on during my first month in Sri Lanka. I remember that it immediately came undone. I remember feeling like it had a great power and that I should put it away in a safe place and keep it with me for some time. I kept it with me during my entire 6 month stay in Sri Lanka.
I would shuffle it from one place to another, sometimes with other talismans, sometimes alone, but I never wore it again. All I know is that I would often forget that I even had it with me, but that from time to time it would re-surface and each time it gave me great comfort and felt very special. I kept trying to remember exactly where it originated but I could never really be exactly sure.
At one point I just decided it was ok for it to forever remain a mystery. Sometimes mystery is better than knowing. More important than knowing exactly where it came from, is knowing that it came from some place special and that it has a special power. A mysteriously mystical power that each person can discover for themselves.
