Wen Chang Wang is the Chinese Taoist deity of education, learning, culture and literature. In Chinese culture, he is called upon by writers who need inspiration and by scholars and students who need motivation to continue their studies or help right before an exam.
I had heard about this deity but had never come into contact with him before. At one point, he kept coming up continuously and so I became curious enough to seek him out. Somehow, my journey to him was neither direct, nor simple. But finally after several days of being sent from one temple to another, I came into his presence.
I had a rather profound meditation and asked if indeed it was appropriate to have a talisman connected to his powerful energy. Every sign came back positive. I spent several days going back and forth, praying and connecting in order to find that appropriate talisman that would embody his Spirit. It really was a learning experience. The more I connected that more I was guided.
I trust that this talisman will be passed on between all types of students of life, from young students to elder scholars and writers. May each person be inspired so that they can continue to grow and learn exactly what is necessary for their well being and for that of humanity.
