The Temiar people are one of the largest of the 19 Orang Alsi (indigenous/original people) tribes of Malaysia.
They are traditionally animists, giving great significance to nature, dreams and spiritual healing.
The Clari Seeds are the symbol of the Orang Asli and their spiritual connection to Nature.
In this video, a shaman (medicine man/ healer) from the Malaysian jungle presents and offers the Asli Seed Beads talisman. He describes the Clari seeds as being “very special.” In fact they are so special that they actually represent the Spirit of Nature. As he says, they represent the Orang Asli and whoever wears them, “he or she is the Orang Asli.” and whoever wears them automatically “becomes” an Orang Asli (indigenous/ original people of Malaysia).
What makes them so special is that although the seeds strangely but naturally have a hole through the middle, they remains in tact and alive. This means that someone can wear them as a bracelet or necklace and at any time they can be thrown back to the soil and they will still grow into a new plant and will produce new seeds.
The hope is that whoever comes into contact with this talisman can become very close to Nature.
