Sri Poyatha Moorthi Temple is the oldest Hindu Temple in Malaysia. The temple is dedicated to Vinayagar (or Ganesha), the elephant deity commonly known to help remove life obstacles.
When I walked into this rather small and rather humble looking temple in Malaysia, I was so shocked by the immense power that I felt. I knew that this was the oldest temple in Malaysia, and I had been warned by someone that it had a very intense energy. Still, I was not prepared.
I was nearly in tears. It probably helped that I was already familiar with Lord Ganesha’s presence and that he often speaks to me in clear messages. The moment I entered this temple, I felt His Presence, His Truth, and His Power. I thought to myself, “How could I share this blessing with the world?”
I walked around the temple several times as I looked for any signs. Finally, I gathered the courage to ask the main temple priest directly. I approached him, and even though he barely spoke or understood English, in all but about 30 seconds I managed to explain to him the MYOURWORLD project. Within a minute he came back holding a thin little bronze square. I knew that it was a tanka depicting Lord Ganesh’s Mandala (the sacred geometric figure that embodies Lord Ganesha’s Energy). I was honored. I would not ask for a more precious gift. He then proceeded to perform a puja (a ritualistic ceremony) to bless and further imbue Lord Ganesh’s energy into the tanka.
The video below, is a portion of the actual puja (sacred ceremony). What you are watching is inside the actual shrine and is the main statue of the main Ganesha Deity for this temple. Please watch with respect, as though you would be entering not only the actual temple, but the actual inner sanctuary where resides the temple Deity. In the tradition of ancient India, this is not a statue representing the Deity, but the physical embodiment of the actual Deity. To look directly into the eyes of the “statue” is believed to look directly into the eyes of the Deity himself. There is a scared transmission of energy (a blessing) that takes place (this is called receiving Dharshan). It is NOT usually permissible to take photos (let alone film) of the actual Deity because it is believed that the energy of the deity will also be transmitted through the photo (or video) and that it will be disrespected. To look into the eyes of the Deity (receive Dharshan) for even just one second is considered an inexplainable blessing and should be approached with utmost gratitude and appreciation. When I asked if I could film a portion of the puja, (which includes direct filming of the Ganesha “statue” Deity, I was given permission. I trust that whomever either intentionally or randomly stumbles upon this site, and watches this video is meant to be here and can benefit from receiving a Dharshan from Ganesha. Watch it again and again, if you so desire, but please watch it with respect (meaning in the very least do not be distracted while doing other things, or prepare in whichever way makes you feel that you are honoring and giving respect). Ask Ganesha to help you directly. Ask that he remove any obstacles in your life path that may be holding you back from living your higher purpose and a life of serenity, clarity ad happiness. Feel whatever messages and guidance that he may be transmitting. And most of all, trust that your prayers are being heard and acknowledged.
Know that, when towards the end of the video the flame is being passed around, there too the actual energy can be transmitted through the video. You can wave your hands in front of the screen, over the flame and towards you, as though to bring the energy of this sacred flame towards you. You can then spread the blessing to your entire body. OM GANAPATAYE NAMAHA (“blessing and veneration to the secret power of the breaker of obstacles”).
