The “Anurathapura Sacred Bodhi Tree” (Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi) would be special enough just because it is the oldest living human-planted tree in the world with a known planting date (288 BCE).

It also happens to be one of the most sacred relics in Sri Lanka and respected by Buddhists all over the world.  It is believed by many to the the only still living tree that has been propagated from the original sacred Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya, India, under which The Buddha (Siddhartha Gautama) attained enlightenment.

While I was meditating in front of this sacred tree, at at a very auspicious moment during my meditation, I noticed a rock right beside me.  I instantly knew that it was special and that it was connected to this sacred tree. To whomever comes into contact with this talisman, may it bring you closer to knowing your True Inner Self and may you experience even a glimpse of the Nirvana (Enlightenment) that Siddhartha Gautama experienced.
