Niagara Falls is the most famous and one of the most impressive waterfalls on earth. Niagara Falls is actually the collective name of three waterfalls, of which the combined falls form the highest flow rate of any waterfall in the world. The Horseshoe Falls, the largest of the three, is the most powerful waterfall in North America, as measured by vertical height and also by flow rate.

I had the privilege of visiting Niagara Falls several times. I instinctively knew that this was a sacred site and that there was surely a time when it was recognized as such. When I researched the matter, my intuition was quickly confirmed. The Ongiaras were a native/ indigenous tribe that lived beside the Niagara River. Niagara falls was a sacred site of these Native Indian tribes who used this as a meditation site because of the tremendous energy that site emanated.

The Legend Of The Maid Of The Mist
The oldest (since 1846) and best known tourist attraction at Niagara Falls is a boat cruise that carries passengers into the rapids at the base of the falls.
